Thelma Bruce Perdue

THELMA BRUCE PERDUE, 91, of Sandston, Virginia, went into eternal peace on July 23, 2016 to rest in the Lord’s arms. She was the seventh child born on May 11, 1925, to Benjamin and Lucy Bruce. She loved gardening, reading the Bible, feeding her “feathered friends”, and doting over her family. Thelma was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and three sisters, and her beloved husband, Jesse James Perdue Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gail Von Mosch (Carl) of Virginia Beach, VA, Jesse Perdue Jr. (Debbie) of New Kent, VA, Earl Perdue (Tammy) of Varina, VA; sister, Julia Cousins of Charles City, VA; grandchildren, Holly Gifford (Joseph), Carl Allan Von Mosch Jr., Sarah Von Mosch (Jackie), Jesse Perdue III (Angie), and Katie Blanks; great-grandchildren, Robbie Gifford, Kallie Blanks, and Morgan Gifford and a host of nieces and nephews and other friends. Visitation for Thelma will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A service to celebrate her life will be held, Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at 11 am at the funeral home. Her final resting place will be at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the loving staffs at Henrico Health Care and Rehabilitation and Bon Secours Regional Memorial Hospital for all the care and concern they gave Thelma.
