Thomas Lewis Bowen, Sr. "Big Sexy"

Thomas Lewis Bowen, Sr. "Big Sexy", age 62, of Sandston, Virginia entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Tommy was born January 12, 1959 to the late Lawrence Otha Bowen and Irene Constance Bowen. He retired from Philip Morris after 30 years of service where he worked as a machine operator and a union representative. Tommy enjoyed the simple things in life such as tending to his vegetable garden, fishing, relaxing at the beach and spending time with his family. He cherished his grandbabies and just talking about life with his nieces and nephews. In his spare time, Tommy coached and managed at Varina Recreation where he was extremely loved by his players. Tommy also enjoyed bowling and rooting on the Boston Red Socks. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 37 years, Katharine Potter Bowen; children, Tiffany Bowen, Stephanie Bowen, Thomas Bowen Jr. (Alex), Brent Bowen; grandbabies, Cora, Harper, Orlando, Charlotte (due in February); brother, Dudley Collier (Midge); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. At this time, a private service will be held for the the immediate family. A public Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation towards a scholarship fund at Varina High School that is currently in the works.
