Wendell Corey Anthony

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Brooke Deuster Anthony; son, Hunter Corey Anthony; daughter, Logan Brooke Anthony; and a loving extended family.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Gail Ann Nicely and William Ellwood Anthony, Sr.; and brothers, William “Billy” Ellwood Anthony, Jr., and Jerry Lee Anthony.

He grew up in Sandston, VA, a graduate of Varina High School where he excelled in academics and athletics, playing on the golf and baseball teams. After proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force, he pursued a career as a master craftsman of commercial casework. Wendell founded W.C. Anthony, Inc. in 2000 and was known for his exemplary expertise in his field.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends, notably David Zitta, but his greatest source of happiness was being with his children and family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, take a child hunting or fishing so they, too, can enjoy the outdoors.
