William David Weaver 78, of Henrico, Va, passed away quietly on Jan. 25th, 2014, in the presence of his loving family; he was predeceased by his father, Arthur Weaver. Dave very proudly served his country first in the Army and then the Air Force, receiving the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam, as well as numerous citations, finally retiring from the Air Force as MSgt. He was also a 13 year veteran of the Henrico Fire Dep`t. Dave enjoyed serving his community, friends, and neighbors. No job or request for help was too big or too small. He loved helping his fellow man. He did volunteer work with the VFW, fundraising for the Cancer Society, Wounded Warriors, and others. He was a member of the CVCC (Corvair Club), loved to fish, raise vegetables, farm, and simply loved being outdoors. Dave’s memory will be cherished by his wife of 52 years, Mitsuko Weaver; his son Mark and wife Renee; two Grandsons William (Harris) and Kurt; his mother Mary Weaver, Siblings Jesse, Shirley, Roy Wesley, Glenda, and Gail; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. It was a life well lived. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, Va 23231, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Wounded Warriors. Our hearts are heavy with the news of David's passing. We hope his family and friends will find comfort at this time. We are sure all those that came in touch with this fine man will also feel a great loss. David served his country well and we were very fortunate to have had time with him and those close to him. May he rest in peace. May peace find all that mourn his passing.

My heart is with everyone today as we remember my great uncle, David. He was a loyal man to his country, his family, and a huge part and example why I am proud to be a Weaver. Big hugs to everyone in the family and all the friends that had the pleasure of knowing his kindness.

Thoughts and prayers for the family of suck a great guy. We went thru grade and high school together, a very close and good friend. We spent many hours in school meeting the every day challenges of life and even a few after hours riding in Dave's old Chevrolet. He was one of my closest friends I will miss the thoughts of seeing him again.
