William D. Weaver

William David Weaver 78, of Henrico, Va, passed away quietly on Jan. 25th, 2014, in the presence of his loving family; he was predeceased by his father, Arthur Weaver. Dave very proudly served his country first in the Army and then the Air Force, receiving the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam, as well as numerous citations, finally retiring from the Air Force as MSgt. He was also a 13 year veteran of the Henrico Fire Dep`t. Dave enjoyed serving his community, friends, and neighbors. No job or request for help was too big or too small. He loved helping his fellow man. He did volunteer work with the VFW, fundraising for the Cancer Society, Wounded Warriors, and others. He was a member of the CVCC (Corvair Club), loved to fish, raise vegetables, farm, and simply loved being outdoors. Dave’s memory will be cherished by his wife of 52 years, Mitsuko Weaver; his son Mark and wife Renee; two Grandsons William (Harris) and Kurt; his mother Mary Weaver, Siblings Jesse, Shirley, Roy Wesley, Glenda, and Gail; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. It was a life well lived. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, Va 23231, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Wounded Warriors.
