Wister James Ambrose

AMBROSE, W. James “Jimmy”, 87, of Richmond went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2015. Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret W. Ambrose; and sister, Jean Fulgham. He retired after 46 years from Charles E. Brauer. He was a member of TPA Post A; Sandston Moose Lodge #1937; Wakefield Community Hunt Club; and past President of Richmond Venders Association. He enjoyed Nascar and Kart racing, hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed greatly. Survivors include two sons, W. James “Jay” Ambrose, Jr., Charles “Brad” (Linda) Ambrose; daughter, Carol A. (Ricky) Fifer; sister, Evelyn Ryan; brother-in-law, Robert Fulgham; grandchildren, Whitney and Sara Fifer, Jennifer, Megan, Courtney and Bradford Ambrose; step grandson, Kendall Gates; great-grandson Weston James Grose. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Calvary United Methodist Church, 1637 Williamsburg Rd. Richmond, VA 23231. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 1:00pm. All services will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond. VA 23231.
