Patrick Dean Barnes

October 29, 1956 – April 15, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Barnes on April 15, 2026, at the age of 69.

Patrick was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Michelle, and a proud father to three daughters, Tara, Jessie and Riley (Kyle), and two stepdaughters, Ashley (Kyle) and Heather (Jay). He was a cherished grandfather to nine grandsons, Gavin, Quincy, Owen, Marlon, Felix, Rhys, Meegwin, Crosby and Wagosh, who brought him immense joy and pride. He also leaves behind his faithful companion, his cat Dolly, who was always close by his side.

Patrick was predeceased by his parents, Doug and Judy (Jessie) Barnes, and his brother Mike. He is survived by his sister Susan and her husband Randy, along with three nephews who will remember him fondly.

A proud member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Patrick served his country with dedication and honour for 23 years. It was a fitting career for a man who loved travel and adventure. During his time in service, he not only built a meaningful career but also formed lifelong friendships that he treasured deeply.

Patrick was known for his boundless energy, storytelling and strong work ethic. He was rarely still, always working on a new project, lending a hand, or finding something to fix, improve or share. His lively, sometimes feisty sense of humor kept those around him laughing and on their toes, and his presence could light up any room.

Pat was never far from the water. He loved tinkering with boats and keeping up his home and cottage. His lifestyle was a huge source of fun for those around him, and you could always count on him to be blasting Jimmy Buffett from his soft top!

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Patrick’s life on June 6, 2026, at the Legion branch #230 located at 228 S Mill St, Ridgeway, ON L0S 1N0 from 1pm - 4pm. For those who would like to share a story, words of remembrance will take place at 2pm. In honor of Patrick’s love of good times and fun music, guests are encouraged to wear their best and brightest Hawaiian shirts or colors. Williams Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to your local Legion in Patrick’s memory.

Patrick will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
