Alfonz A. Alongi

Alfonz Anthony Alongi, age 77, of Rochester Hills, passed away March 11, 2018.
Loving husband of Margaret (Peggy) for 54 years; dear father of Nick (Julie) Alongi of Oxford, and Tony (Kim) Alongi of Clarkston; caring grandfather of Dominic, Vincent, Brianna, and Gianna; and uncle to Ann (Reno) Palomo of Royal Oak; and great-uncle of Ann Marie (Bryan) Rekucki and Jaclyn (Evan) Veit.
Alfonz was born the son of Jack and Ann Marie (LaFata) Alongi in Detroit, Michigan on September 27, 1940. He married Margaret Accorsi on December 7, 1963 in Berkley, Michigan.
Alfonz had a career as an illustrator. In retirement, he loved driving a school bus for Troy school children. He had a passion for boating, golf, baseball, and watching the Detroit Lions.
Alfonz’s family will receive all for a visitation on Wednesday March 14th, 2018 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday March 15th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Pixley Funeral Home located at 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester.

The best memory of Mr. Alongi is him calling me his "little brown son" and in return calling him my "American Dad". He was a genuine, nice, friendly, and smart man. I loved the times when we chatted about nothing. RIP my American Dad!!
