Angelo was born the son of Anthony and Frances (LaFranca) D’Anna on September 27,1943, in Detroit, Michigan. Angelo met his sweetheart, Patricia Rampolo, during his senior year in the class of 1961 at Southeastern High School. Angelo married Patricia on June 20, 1964, in Detroit.
Angelo was passionate about caring for his wife and family. He and Patricia raised their family in Sterling Heights, where he was very involved in the community and the kids’ lives, including leading the PTO, participating on the HOA board, coaching baseball and making early morning drives for figure skating. When he spoke of his grandchildren, his eyes welled up with overwhelming pride almost every time.
After attending Ferris State, Angelo enjoyed immense success and was proud of his career in medical sales. His work led to many life-long friendships, plus countless touching and entertaining stories. He had a successful career with Squibb, Wyeth, Glaxo, Imre, and Baxter, before retiring from the American Red Cross in 2010.
Angelo enjoyed good friendship, food, and wine. He was a problem solver who loved helping people. He was determined to build or fix anything he set his mind to. Angelo enjoyed boating and fishing, especially with family and his good friend Steve Haban. Angelo had many passions and hobbies, most recently for the Sicilian tradition of growing fig trees.
Angelo is survived by his loving wife Patricia D’Anna; children Laura (Dave Wilcox) D’Anna and Paul (Debby) D’Anna; grandchildren Alexa Wilcox, Dominick Wilcox, and Tyler D’Anna; many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Angelo was predeceased by his parents; son Steven Joseph D’Anna; and siblings Sylvia Palmer and Patricia Stojke.
