I met Armen while helping to care for his wife. He was quiet at first then one day he told me he bought a little sports car and I was excited for him! He had some questions about it so I offered for my husband, a great car enthusiast, to come and help him with it.  After awhile the house was quiet so I went to check on them and Armen and Carolyn  were gone! I checked the garage to find that the cute little sports car was gone too! I was worried of course but now that is a fond memory that I will keep forever. 
Looking back, I’m so glad he had that opportunity before he got sick 💖  Terri 

Armen became a wonderful friend of ours when we worked on projects at the Red Bir Mission in Beverly, KY.  He was always friendly, cooperative and caring.  He showed his patience when we needed instructions and help for completing projects.  We will always remember his love and smile for us at St. Paul’s.  What a kind man and friend!

I met Armen this summer when he needed a little help with his new sports car. My wife, Terri, volunteered me to show him the ropes on his new acquisition. He was such a pleasant gentleman it felt like I’ve known him my whole life. He and Terri got to talking music and he told her he likes jazz. I’ve been a saxophone player my whole life so I went to the house in early November and played a mini jazz concert for him. He was so grateful. His thank you brought tears to my eyes. I wish I had met him earlier. 

I am sending love to the beloved Googasian family and holding you all in prayer. I feel so fortunate to have grown up knowing Armen and being included in your family. Favorite memories for me regarding Armen are the many hours we'd all sit together and listen to comedians on tape - he had all the routines memorized and his laugh was absolutely the best!
May you all know the love and care of your friends and family and feel the presence of God among you as you grieve.

We will truly miss Armen.  He was a joy to be around and dedicated to his family and his church.  His help during the rummage sales was a special gift.

On behalf of the United Methodist Women, I want to acknowledge how much we appreciated Armen’s help with our Rummage Sales.  Armen always worked to make sure every electrical appliance, lamp, and tool was functioning before items were sold.  When someone asked, does that item work, we could always say “Yes, it does” because Armen had inspected it.  
I will remember Armen smiling as he worked on household items & I enjoyed seeing the satisfaction he felt when he had fixed a wire or tightened a screw.  Armen made his corner of the Hickey Hall a better place because he was there.  
The United Methodist Women will remember Armen fondly, and will miss him.

Armen has been my only lifelong friend.  We grew up together, living one block apart in Pontiac.  After high school, I followed him to MSU where we lived 5 rooms apart on the same floor in Phillips Hall.  I have spent many good times with him at his cottage near Traverse City.  I’ve never known anyone who could make friends easier than Armen.  Armen loved books and he couldn’t pass a book store with going in to browse,  always leaving with  a new batch of mysteries to read.  He loved a good garage sale and usually found something he could use.  No one could ask for a more amiable good hearted friend.  I will miss him.

He was always willing to help with a project, whether it was a pinewood derby car or a small electronics project. 
At every Traverse City Film Festival he would make fast friends with anyone who was in line next to him. He was so full of stories and sharp as a tack.
Whatever he set his mind to, he gave his all.

He is with his baby girl, whom he loved so much.
Those who knew him, remember his joy, remember his service, remember his life.

We are so Sorry to see God took  Armen  Home.

We have many joyful memories of our times spent together with Carolyn and Armen.  We got to know each other through various activities at St Paul’s United Methodist Church  in Rochester.  We shared our fondness of traveling and charitable activities through our mutual mission efforts and passions.  Our  friendship was firmly solidified when we traveled to China together. Following this trip, we visited each other regularly including at our lake homes. We spent enough time together at the lake(s) that people in the mutual neighborhoods thought we owned property at their lake. 

Our annual mission trip to Red Bird Mission in Appalachia was one of our fulfilling shared activities. Armen got a reputation as the ‘new tool man’ as each year he would have some new handy tool to use at a work site as we helped rehabilitate a hill person’s home. We joined Armen’s leadership in helping at the semi-annual rummage sales earning many dollars for missions and preparing  boxes for the annual Christmas food ‘basket’ activity serving over a hundred local families. 

Since Armen knew how to do almost everything around the house we also counted on him whenever we had a home project that needed to be done. He was always willing to lend a hand which usually meant do all of the work!! And it turned out (mostly) great!! We were glad to reciprocate when Armen needed help.

Armen and Mary shared a passion for trying new out recipes. The four of us were willing to eat whatever was prepared. We did not limit our culinary passion to our own skills as we would frequently go out to eat and enjoy not just the food but our times and conversations together.

One other highlight that we enjoyed was our love of music. We shared our fondness for many different genres and styles. We supported and encouraged each other in our choral participations and enjoyed both singing and listening to music.

We are sad to say adieu to our friend Armen. Praying ‘It is Well With Your Soul’ dear friend! 

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as you feel the loss of a husband, and father and my friend of many years.  A man who will be missed in so many ways and will be remembered always as THE BEST.
