Barbara was born with a zest for life, and it showed in everything she did. She adored her family and was a beloved mother to Scott (Stacy) Clayton, LeeAnn (David) Lucas, Carrie (Larry) Kulin, Joseph Clayton, Edward Clayton, and Jill (Anthony) Shizas. Barbara was also a proud and beloved grandmother to 12 grandchildren and so enjoyed making special plans with them, she also has 5 great grandchildren with 6th on the way and many beloved nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest joy, and she spent her years nurturing, supporting, and cherishing every moment with them. Christmas Eve and Memorial Day were highlights for the family to be together along with spaghetti dinner every Wednesday.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Clayton, with whom she shared a life full of love and adventure. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and lasting memories.
Barbara was hard working and had a long career with Avon Products advancing her way to becoming a District Manager to many women whom she provided mentorship and friendship. She and Jim enjoyed many travels together, their favorite being their annual trip to Saratoga, New York where they enjoyed horse racing and many friends. She took great pride in her home and planted her signature red geraniums each Spring.
Her legacy of love, faith, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation for Barbara will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI, 48307. A Funeral Mass will occur on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood St., Rochester, MI, 48307.
Memorial contributions in Barbara’s honor may be made to PIME Missionaries, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Heart to Heart Hospice, or BellBrook Assisted Living in Rochester.
