Loving wife of the late Laurence Garber; beloved mother of Linda (Timothy) Dewan and Stephen (Janet) Garber; dear grandmother of Heather, Leslie, Dain, Jackson, Taylor, John, Lindsey, Owen, and Nicholas; great-grandmother of Isaac and Austin; and sister-in-law of Patricia Skags. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Laurence, son Daniel, parents Bert and Irene (Conn) Skags, and brother Clayton Skags.
Barbara was born in Morehead, Kentucky on October 18, 1934. She graduated from Breckinridge Training School. She married Laurence Garber on December 19th, 1964 at Free Will Baptist Church in Hazel Park, Michigan. Barbara worked as an accountant for the cities of Hazel Park and Madison Heights until her retirement.
Barbara was a member of the Red Hats of Washington Twp. She also served as a volunteer at elections in Rochester Hills.
Barbara’s family will welcome all for a visitation on Monday March 18th, 2019 from 4-8pm and on Tuesday March 19th from 10 am until the time of Funeral Service at 11am at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester. A luncheon will follow the service.
