Betty Jean Hoeksema

Former Iowa resident, Betty Hoeksema, age 94, passed away on January 21, 2024 in Rochester, Michigan. Betty was born in Blackford County, IN on March 14, 1929. She married Dessel Beavans and raised three children in Ankeny, IA, where Betty worked at John Deere.

She is pre-deceased by Dessel Beavans, husbands Richard Orendorff and Joe Hoeksema; sister Edna Shadle; brothers Murl, William, John, and Darrell McCammon; and grandson Michael Richman. She is survived by her children Linda (Wayne) Hodges of Lakeville, Michigan, Judy (Robert) Richman and Bret Beavans of Shelby Montana, as well as many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. and funeral at 11:00 on February 3, 2024 at Ankeny Memorial Gardens, 4208 North Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny, IA 50023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Special K Ranch, P O Box 479, Columbus, MT 59019.
