Al is survived by wife Bonnie Corona; children Laura ( Dennis Dettmer) Corona, George (Karen Mountz) Corona, and Paul (Christina) Corona; children by marriage Kathleen (Greg) Sebastian, Tom (Alex Cintron) Jacob, and Julie (Ben Hosford) Recchia; sister Grace Kennedy; grandchildren Dominic (Claire) Corona, Adrienne (Jackson) Montalbano, Carmen Corona, Carlo Corona, Amanda (Marc) Kanitz, Allison (Alex) Borglin, Natalie (Sam) Saliba, Lara Sebastian, Sinon Cintron, Kristyn Recchia, Ethan (Hadley) Dettmer, and Chris (Carolyn) Dettmer. Al was preceded in death by his parents George and Caroline (Tocco) Corona, first wife Alice (Scandalis) Corona, and sister Mary “Pat (Corona) Kuttney.
Born on September 19, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, Al attended Detroit schools and graduated from Eastern High School in 1947. He was hired by General Motors Photographic and in 1951 was drafted into the US Army. Al attended US Military film school before being deployed to Korea, where he utilized his film training to take battlefield reconnaissance films. Returning in 1953, Al spent the remainder of his career with GM Photographic, retiring in 1992.
Al enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an enthusiastic sports fan. He spent many happy hours attending grandchildren’s sporting events and watching any sports that were on, especially Detroit Tigers. Al appreciated the simple things in life and loved his family immensely.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday July 17th, 2025, at 11am (10am instate) at St. John Fisher Chapel, located at 3665 Walton Boulevard, Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Interment will be private at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
Al’s family appreciates the excellent care provided by the staff of Waltonwood Main and Optimal Care Hospice.
