Carol Jean Pennington

Carol was born in Portland, Oregon, to her parents, William and Katherine Hubbard. She graduated from the University of Oregon and later received her master’s degree from the University of Mexico.

Carol had a love for cooking and was exceptionally talented in the kitchen. She also had a deep commitment to the special needs community, where she volunteered her time, helped others, and participated in activities on weekends. Her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others touched many lives.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Ed Pennington, whom she married on December 31, 1987; her children, Jamie French and Nikki Diapold; her sister, Cheryl (Mike) Moody; her grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester, MI. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Pixley Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
