

FISCHER, Carole M., age 82, of Rochester Hills, passed away September 23, 2016. She was born Carole Mildred Mack in Lansing, Michigan on March 3, 1934. Carole received a Bachelor’s degree from MSU in mathematics and her Master’s in mathematics from U of M. She was married to Frederick Charles Fischer on October 24, 1959 and worked for the Department of Defense at the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Command in Warren. Carole loved to share her talents with people. She shared her passion for cooking by teaching the program “Kids in the Kitchen” to school children as well as teaching at the OPC. Many people were encouraged to join the computer and genealogy clubs at OPC because of her. Carole was a member of both the Rochester Junior Woman’s club and the Meadowbrook Woman’s club. She was also involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution, Michigan Questers and Rochester Hills Historical Societies as well as the Alumni associations for Albion College and Michigan State University. As evident in her dedication to community activities and her dear friends, she enjoyed meeting with people and engaging in conversations both serious and silly. Carole is survived by her children, Kurt, Chris, and Craig; grandchildren Adam, Karl, Eric, Anna, Charlie, and Josh; preceded in death by her husband, Frederick and grandson, Bryan. Visitation will be held Sunday October 2, 2016 from 12-6pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W University Dr., in downtown Rochester.
