VIGOR, Charles William, 96, of Rochester Hills, MI passed away on July 23, 2019. He was born on April 17, 1923 in Detroit, MI. Charles went to Southeastern High School and went on to graduate from the University of Michigan with a degree in metallurgical engineering. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII, and then separated from the Air Force in November of 1945. After a successful career at General Motors research, he became a master club maker and charter member of Brookwood Golf Club in Rochester Hills. Charles was the beloved father to Katherine (Kate) (Jeff Wyckoff) and Richard (Ric); and uncle to 8 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Phoebe Rose (Johnson); and his parents, Henry and Helen Vigor. Charles was a dear friend and mentor to so many who admired and loved him. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 9-11 AM, with a Funeral Service being held at 11 AM, at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI. Donations in Charles’s memory may be made to the Rochester Hills Public Library.

We’ve been an across the street neighbor of Chuck’s for many years We will miss him so much. Both Bob and I said whenever we visited Chuck we came home knowing something new. Such a brilliant man! 😘😘 He was also so appreciative of our visits, wether dropping off soup or just to chat. God Speed Chuck. 😘
