Charlotte Mary York

Lillian (Bengry) Cook. She was the eldest of 4, Norman, George, and Margaret to follow.

In January 1949, she married Edward Lee York, and was the mother to 4 children, Richard, Deborah (Leonard Walla), Kenneth (Peggy Knust), and Brian (Donna Simpson). Charlotte has 5 grandchildren; Christopher and Margaret Kristy (Rev. Dr. Dean Shaw) from Kenneth, and Richard (Stephanie Henderson), Kyle (Melissa Thompson) and Lisa from Brian. She also has 6 great grandchildren; Danielle (Stephen McIntyre) from Christopher, Alex and Hannah from Kristy, Wyatt from Richard, Samantha and Talon from Kyle. She also has I great great granddaughter, Lana, from Danielle.

Charlotte worked for the Rochester Community schools as a cook/baker at McGregor Elementary for 16 years from 1969 to 1985. Her sports interests were bowling and golf, having aced a par 3 in Florida at On Top of the World golf course in her early 60s.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her husband of 59 years at the time of his death in 2008, and her son Richard.

Charlotte's visitation will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester, MI, and conclude with a funeral service at 11 AM.
