Cheryl Mae Riordan (née Foley), age 79, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026. Born on June 15, 1947, Cheryl lived a vibrant life filled with devotion to her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.
A natural connector with a vibrant personality, Cheryl was a lifelong salesperson who thrived on working with people. In Rochester, Michigan, she helped families find their homes as a dedicated real estate agent with Century 21. She also shared her leadership and passion for beauty as a Mary Kay Cosmetics director, leading "Riordan's Roses", and brought joy to many mornings as a warm and welcoming Starbucks barista.
Cheryl spent much of her life creating beautiful homes and lasting friendships in Rochester, Michigan, and Marco Island, Florida. After living in Rochester and before moving to Marco Island, she spent meaningful years in Romeo, Michigan, where she formed many wonderful friendships. Throughout her life’s journey, Cheryl also lived and built lifelong connections in Syracuse, New York; Westlake, Ohio; and Sterling, Massachusetts.
A lover of culture and creativity, Cheryl attended Syracuse University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Art History. Her appreciation for art and beauty was reflected throughout her life.
Cheryl also had an immense love for dogs and found great joy and companionship in her four-legged friends over the years. Her energetic spirit, warmth, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and by the many communities whose lives she touched.
Cheryl is survived by her loving children, son Brandon J. Riordan (Kirsten) and daughter Meghan C. Riordan; her devoted sister, Karen D. Richter (née Foley); and her beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Max, Micah, and Myron.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Joseph D. Foley and Mae A. Foley (née Erickson).
Memorial Mass will be held, Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 11:00am (Memorial Gathering 10:30am) at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville. Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a time of Memory Sharing at 6:00pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cheryl’s memory to Detroit Dog Rescue.
