Connie Jean Allen was born in Croswell, Michigan on September 16, 1942. She learned the value of hard work on the family farm, taking care of livestock, the garden and the crops, and looking out for her younger siblings as a child. She graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School in 1960. Shortly after graduation she married Dean Turner, and settled in Berkely, Michigan to start their life together. They had four children together, Suzanne, Joanne, Wayne and Mark and later moved to Oxford, Michigan. After her husband Dean’s passing she moved to Oakland Township, Michigan.
Throughout her life, Connie enjoyed homemaking, gardening, and needlepoint crafts. She was known for making delicious cakes and cookies, and the best pie. Once her children started school, she returned to work as a nurse's aide and spent the later part of her life helping others. Her dedication to her work led to ensuring friendships with those she cared for.
She was immensely proud of her family, and her home was always filled with photographs and stacks of photo albums of her children and grandchildren. If someone asked her how she was doing, she would immediately respond with updates on what her adult children were up to, and the latest visits with her grandchildren!
She is survived by her sisters Bonnie Bennett-Amon and Mary Kolowich (Steven), and brother William Allen, Jr. (Debbie Jahn), and children, Suzanne Monahan (Lawrence Monahan), Joanne Turner, Wayne Turner and Mark Turner (Eliane Carvalho Coelho Turner). Additionally, she leaves behind eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
