Darcie Mae Kayes-Nelson

Kayes-Nelson, Darcie Mae, 38, of Rochester Hills, passed away September 3, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born December 16, 1977. She graduated from Lutheran High Northwest in 1996. In 2000, she was blessed with the birth of her daughter and best friend Alexandra. In October 2008 Darcie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Rather than letting cancer kill her vivacious spirit, Darcie became a staunch advocate for and friend to young women also diagnosed with the disease. Their family grew to three in 2014 when she married the love of her life Jason. Darcie was a voracious reader, often commenting on how sad she was at not being able to read every book in the library. Darcie is survived by her daughter Alexandra and her husband Jason, her mother and step-father Susie and Ron Jaeger, her father Robert Kayes, her sister, Carla (Paul) Konen, her brother, Sean (Megan) Phillips, her sister Madeline Kayes, her step-brother Aaron Jaeger, her niece and nephew Shayna and Jacob Konen. She also leaves behind her dogs, Marshall and Monty as well as her cats Olivia and Mr. Daisy. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 4, from 4 -8 pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W.
