

Darlene Marie Foertsch, a resident of Troy, Michigan, and formally of Rochester, Michigan, passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 3, 1956, Darlene was a cherished wife, mother, friend, and coworker.
Darlene is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, James Gregory Foertsch, and her loving son, Eric James Foertsch. She is also survived by her father Clifton Kern, siblings David Kern, Douglas Kern, Diane (Kern) Howe, and Dawn (Kern) Schupbach. She was predeceased by her mother, Cecilia Kern, and grandmothers Kathleen Kern and Marie Ruffatti.
Darlene had a long fulfilling career in group and medical insurance, and her last position was as an Account Manager for NFP/Salus Group. She was proud to have earned a diploma in the Medical Office Assistant Program and an Associate Degree in Science. Darlene was devoted to her family. Darlene also enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests such as gardening, sewing, traveling, cooking, and reading. She loved watching television including HGTV and Food Network, particularly Beat Bobby Flay, which brought her much relaxation and entertainment. Darlene was an active member of two Corvette Clubs, America’s Corvette Club and GMC Corvette Set, where she participated in charitable events.
A visitation will be held on February 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive, Rochester, MI 48307 with a rosary being held at 7:00 pm. A Catholic funeral service for Darlene will be held the following day on February 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Pixley Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Van Hoosen Jones Stoney Creek Cemetery.
Darlene’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
