I am a David Herweyer’s old friend from Vickers Paris France.
I first met David long time ago, when he came to France, to shot film at AIRBUS Toulouse
for the annual Vickers report.
Since that period we met several times in America, & since my retirement,
we have been in frequent touch almost every week.
His last Email dated 16th Feb 2018 was on Chuck Yeager’s Birthday…
I am extremely affected, I lost a very good Friend…
David was such an open minded, attentive & generous person, all at once.

I am sending to the David’s Family, my sincere condolences and prayers next Sunday,
so that David will rest in peace in this other world.

Blessings & Warm regards

I was saddened to hear of the passing of a good friend, David Herweyer.
David knew I had a passion for the history of the St. Paul's UMC so he would always go out of his way to greet me and to provide information regarding some historical aspect of the church. That was his way - always remembering and always considerate in sharing his knowledge.
David also provided hours of entertainment with email contacts which included articles about some topic of interest or humorous jokes and stories - such fun that I will surely miss.
Mostly I will miss his sweet smiles, his hugs and his warm greetings!!
My condolences to the family - you have lost a beloved soul to God's heavenly hosts.
Blessings, Mary & Garry Watson

Dear David,

I was heart broken to hear of your passing. You had just sent me a beautiful card a couple weeks before. It was so sweet of you. I will miss your e mails and seeing your smiling face, as Epworth Choir passes through the hall on their way to 9:00 church. I always took the time to stop and give you a hug. I was already missing those hugs while you’ve been ill. I know you loved your family and you were so proud of them. May they find comfort in all the wonderful memories they have of you. Rest In Peace dear friend, you’ll be missed.

Love and hugs, Alice Shaeffer

I formerly owned Pine Tree Apartments and hired Dave as onsite manager. He proveed to be a "gem" for the job for about 7 years, until I sold Pine Tree. I was retiring, moving to South Carolina. For the past 15 years, 11 in SC, Dave & I have kept in touch via e mail. He kept me up to date on Rochester, Pine Tree apartments, & Detroit Area, "happenings". His pictures & stories about his grandson Alex, were great. I'm truly sorry I never got back to Rochester, to have a "good friends" lunch or dinner, with truly, a "long distance friend". I have a beautiful picture of the "Woodward house" of Pine Tree Apartments", taken by Dave. Dave also, arranged for me, to "work" the auto show @ Meadowbrook. RIP Dave. You made your mark!

I would often see David on Saturdays when I would deliver flowers from Holland's to St. Paul for the Sunday service. If time permitted, we would chat for a few minutes. David's relatives had connections to the Lake City area in Missaukee County, as did my late wife, who was Lenna Vay Smith.

He often spoke of his family, and how proud he was of his grandson, Alex.

David could talk about many subjects. He was a learned man. I really enjoyed our visits, and will miss them and David.
