Dear Mary and Family-

Dave’s photo appears periodically on our digital frame and we think of him with fond memories.  Such a kind man-always willing to lend a hand or express an opinion.  

We will always miss friend and neighbor, Dave!

Frank and I still cannot wrap our minds around the fact that Dave is no longer on the other side of the wall!  We loved having him as a neighbor both at the condo and in Hawthorn Forest.  We met Dave in 2001 and got to know him through book club and even more so at the new abode.

We appreciate seeing photos of Dave as a younger man and also reading the memories from family and coworkers.  We have no doubt that he was wonderful to work for as he was a fair and rational man.

We will always remember Dave as a gentleman and as a positive, kind, helpful person.  He was always there to give advice and help out with any problem (since he did hold every occupation you could think of at one time or another!) and he did it with a smile-which will be greatly missed.

If Dave had one flaw, it was that he felt compelled to let everyone know that his children were the most incredible on the planet and it was evident that he really believed it.

Our condolences to our dear friend Mary, to Jake, Natalie and Michael, Joseph, and to siblings and extended family.  Dave will be greatly missed by many.

Rajiv and I would like to offer our deepest condolences to Mary, our dear friend of so many years and to Jake, Joseph, Natalie & Mike & the extended family. 
We met Dave and Mary when we moved to the Hawthorn Forest community.  They made us feel so welcome and very soon I was invited to join “ The Book Club” which became my lifeline . But what completed it was the fact that all our husbands fit so well in the groove and our parties were wild and full of fun. 
One day I happened to mention to Dave that since I grew up in India, I did not know any beef recipes.  He was gracious enough to share his expertise with me and actually walked me through cooking a delicious beef brisket which is now a signature dish “Dave’s brisket” in the Ahuja family . 
We also have fond memories of our camping trips in which Dave was always like the manager of our group!
Both Rajiv and I were so honored that Dave and Mary came to Virginia to attend our son’s wedding.  That is a memory we will always hold close to our heart. 
RIP Dave! We will miss you! 

Dave was the first to introduce me to what became a childhood favorite—the peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich. It may not sound like a big deal, but to a 5 year old? True pioneering. Peak craftsmanship. I remember even back then he always had a way of making little things seem extra special. 

I will absolutely be raising a glass of bourbon in honor and will share some photos when I can find them.

Dave was a great guy to wok for!

I met Dave while we both worked at the former AMSC (American Motors Sales Corporation) back in 1985.  He had to come into home office on a rotation and was looking forward to getting back out into the field.

We had discussion over the years when we both were absorbed into the same general area at Chrysler Motors in 1987.   

 Dave selected me to be part of the original Customer/Owner Information Network (COIN) department in September of 1996.   I continued working with for him through my retirement in February 2014.  I was on Medical Leave at the time since February 2013 and did not hear until later that we retired on the same day.

He always stood up for his people!  He though lunch was important and was a way to unwind and enjoy some humor.

He was results driven and that kept us on out toes.  He always found time to have fun in the midst of turmoil.  Being merged with Daimler and the unmerged Daimler, Cerberus, Bankruptcy, and for me it ended with Fiat absorption.



Feeling gutted.  Dave was my boss at Chrysler for 14 years.  I doubt any other team had a greater advocate in a manager than ours did.  He was admired for his brilliance, humor and profound resistance against authority.  And who else could find one buried error in a dense spreadsheet as Dave could?  He displayed an obvious love for Mary, his children and his siblings.  

We all want his family to know that he served as a role model for us, not just in process development and data management but in a life well lived.

I am so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. I had the honor to work for him at Chrysler and I will always remember his flying pig, his smile and the dollar he gave me when I told him I was also left handed. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

 I first met Dave after we moved to Hawthorn Forest. Jean joined a Book Club there & Mary was also a member. The Book club was what you might call ‘party focused’. It wasn’t long before it became labelled Drink Club.
The girls thought it would be a good idea to invite the husbands to the next Book club Xmas party. 
Despite their concern we all got along famously with Dave at the centre of the action. Rajiv, declared we name ourselves ‘The Incredibles ‘after the recently released children’s movie. In truth, the only thing incredible was how inebriated we all were. 
We continued to enjoy time together with Dave, Mary and The Incredibles, with never to be forgotten memories of Camping trips, Graduations, surprise US Citizen celebrations, Weddings, Dinner parties and just parties for parties’ sake! 
I last saw Dave just prior to the Pandemic. We visited Dave & Mary at their beautiful new home in Rochester. Dave showed me around and he was so very proud of their new digs. 
We got to talking about our times back at Hawthorn Forest and he spoke of on one occasion, whilst walking in the backyard, he was overcome by the strong scent of a deceased animal somewhere close by. He said he instantly flashbacked to his military & medical service days. 
Dave started to gently, silently weep.
I stood there feeling helpless and useless. I witnessed for the first time the pain of our hero veterans who quietly carry the burden of their war experiences.
I vowed that day to personally thank every war veteran, police officer & public servant who past & present put their lives on the line for the rest of us.
Thank you, Dave, for your service to your country.
Thank you, Dave, for being a good friend. We always enjoyed your company, spirited political conversation and your whacky sense of humor!

I’m so sad hearing about Dave. What a great man. I only had the honor of meeting him a couple of times, but the love that he had for his family was incredible. I always wanted to thank you all for making Michael a part of your wonderful family. 
So very sorry and I’m sure you will all hold each other tight during this difficult time.
