Beloved Mother of Jack Jr. (CJ) Lewis, Matt (JoAnn) Lewis, Stan (Carolina) Lewis, and John (Melissa) Lewis; dear grandmother of Cory, Chad, Carly, Edward, Landon, Miranda, Cody, Jacklin, Tyler, and Tessa; great-grandmother to 18 great-grandchildren; caring sister of Bill (Freeda) Wooten and Scottie Hopson. Delores was pre-deceased by her husband Jack Lewis, her parents Carl and Damie (Smith) Wooten and her Brother-in-law Irvin Hopson.
Delores was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma on September 21, 1930. She graduated from High School in Texhoma, Oklahoma and earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Delores married Jack Dixon Lewis in Goodwell, Oklahoma on December 8, 1949. She and Jack moved to Denver, Colorado and raised their family there. Delores taught Kindergarten and 1st Grade for Aurora Public Schools for many years.
Delores was a member of University Church of Christ in Denver where she taught Bible classes for many years. She and Jack loved their many mission trips to India to make a difference. She loved the outdoors and shared that love by camping, fishing, and hunting with her family. Delores also had a great sense of humor.
Delores’s family will hold a committal service on Friday November 16th, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, located at 4400 West Kenyon Ave, Denver Colorado, 80326.
