Deno Gazzarari was more than a Navy-man, a hardworking engineer and a avid Jazz lover. He was at the core of our family, a man that loved us more than he loved himself. As a husband he was loyal, loving and very protective. As a father he was nurturing and proud and as a Poppa and “G Pop” in his words meaning Great Poppa, he was a strong wonderful man to look up to and admire. Deno was particular and organized and all who loved him knew that he was one to be counted on. His love for his family would never fail and never falter during times of difficulty. We looked to him for his knowledge and his consistent cheerleading of our lives. We were his heart, and we were never in doubt. Poppa was the perfect example of a grandfather. The love that he shared with my grandma is one to look up to and aspire to attain if one can ever be so lucky. We will always remember the warmth of his hugs, the devotion in his eyes and the strength in his heart. He will forever live in our stories and jokes and in every thing we do from this day forward. Family will receive visitors on Saturday, Sept. 21st at 10:00am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am at Pixley Funeral Home, Rochester. A luncheon will be served following the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka KS 66675 would be greatly appreciated.
