She was born in Manistee, Michigan, but relocated to Denver at a very young age. Donna grew up and lived in Denver, Colorado for over fifty years. After a successful career with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Colorado she retired back to west Michigan.
She was a member of the American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary.
She was the beloved wife of the late Russell McCarter, and loving mother of the late Randal Nelson.
Dona is survived by her daughter, Julie Nanney (Mark), granddaughter Rachel Marn (Matt), and great granddaughter Riley, plus many friends and family.
Private family services will be held.
