Dora was born the daughter of William and Bertha (Dalby) Tetil on December 15, 1929, in Caro, Michigan. She grew up in Caro and earned her LPN license in Traverse City, Michigan. Dora married Kenneth Wiley on August 15, 1953, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. The couple raised their family in Rochester with Dora staying home to raise her children and manage the home. Dora was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Rochester and a volunteer at the OPC for many years.
Dora loved her family. She could be found morning until night, baking, gardening, cleaning and joyfully taking care of everyone. Dora was a person of strength, even at 95 years old. She enjoyed travel and was nicknamed the “Energizer bunny” on a past trip to Israel.
Dora is survived by children Debra (late Mark) LaRue of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Sandra (John) Chambers of Northbrook, Illinois, William (William Innes) Wiley of Elsa, Texas, and Patricia (Allen) Duyck of Manistique, Michigan; siblings Lennard (Helen) Tetil of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, Elna (Late Robert) Kamrad of Caro, Michigan, and Betty Tetil of Woodstock, Georgia; grandchildren Aaron (Gina) Pearce, Bradley (Elena) Wiley, Sarah (Luke Fritz) Duyck, Katherine Wiley, and Heather (Greg) Titus; great-grandchildren Connor Pearce, Anabella Wiley, Griffin Pearce, and Alexandra Wiley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday March 8, 2025, from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am at St. John Lutheran Church, located at 1011 West University Drive in Rochester, Michigan. Interment will be at 11am on March 15th, 2025, at White Chapel Cemetery. Cars will gather inside the cemetery gate.
