Dear Erv and Family,

We send our heart-felt thoughts and prayers as you rejoice in Dorothy's life and mourn her passing from your presence. She was so very blessed in her 91 years, with a deep faith and a loving family who served the Lord. (I) have wonderful memories from St. John's Lutheran School of you all, of Dorothy welcoming Mr. Bauers' 8th grade class into her living room to watch the 1961 World Series, and of the closeness we all felt as we studied and worshiped together. Mr. Bauer, you and Dorothy were steadfast role-models for us. May you be blessed with God's peace that passes all understanding.
With caring,
Ginger (Catterfeld) and Monty Williams

I can't even begin to put into words how much you meant to me Grandma. Growing up at your house & spending almost every afternoon/evening there will be some of the greatest memories I will ever have. I was so blessed to be able to spend so much time with you & that is something I will cherish forever. You are truly one of the greatest people to ever live & you never failed to put anyone before yourself. You are the greatest role model & you will forever live on in my heart. Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel. I love & miss you so much Grandma <3

My Aunt Dorothy was so kind, thoughtful and always had her camera ready for the Family photos. Uncle Erv and Aunt Dort were the greatest role models of a caring, loveing couple. I will always remember our summer trips to Michigan from Oregon and your hospitality. You and Uncle Erv always "checked in on Mom"! Thank you always for my annual birthday wishes, you never forgot. Love you, your Niece, Gloria Eggers.

My folks, Ray and Bernie Winkel, were early church friends of Erv and Dorothy and kept track of each others' lives by email over the decades. I remember all the Bauers coming to our small home in Utica to visit and Dorothy giving my mom a permanent in the kitchen. Dorothy was always cheerful and patient (with all us kids running under foot) and smiling...a joyous lady and true friend. Such fond memories we all have of her.

We were so blessed to know Dorothy. She was always so much fun to be with - so grateful for her blessings and her family and interested in the blessings of others. And such a smart cookie! You are in our prayers.

I lived not to far from the Bauers on Helen Street. I went to St. Johns from 1st to 8th grade, and was always welcomed at the Bauer house. I remember sitting at the kitchen counter with the boys after ice skating in their back yard, and eating lunch that Dorothy had made. Always a smile on her face, and never a bad thing to say about anything or anyone. She will be missed!
