Drew Arthur Blair, age 74, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 12, 1952, in Highland Park, Michigan, and spent his life in the metro Detroit area, calling Rochester Hills home for many years.
Drew graduated from Highland Park High School and had a long career at Wolverine Carbide and Tool. Through his work and steady dedication, he earned the respect of those around him and built many lasting friendships.
Outside of work, Drew found joy in the simple, meaningful parts of life. He loved music of all kinds and was a talented bass player, finding great joy performing with his band, Bliss. He also enjoyed mountain biking and clogging, where he formed many close friendships over the years.
Drew cherished his time at Cedar Lake, where he loved boating and being outdoors. He built lifelong friendships with his neighbors there and found a strong sense of community that meant a great deal to him. He also appreciated winding down with a good craft beer, particularly an IPA.
More than anything, Drew will be remembered for the way he made people feel. He was deeply loved by everyone who knew him, and he loved just as fully in return. He had a natural warmth and an easygoing, playful sense of humor that drew people in. A true prankster at heart, he loved making others laugh and was always ready with a joke or a bit of mischief. Children and animals seemed especially drawn to him, and he had a way of making others feel comfortable, cared for, and at ease.
Drew is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Blair; his children, Erik (Margie), Jason, and Katie (Reunan); and his grandchildren, Gabriella, Isabella, Leyhanna, Marceau, and Estelle. He is also survived by his siblings, Debi (Dave, deceased), Denise (Tom), Darlene (Bob), Mike (Heidi), and Joe (Vicky), along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, and his beloved cat, Tinsel.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Hebert and his stepfather, Ray Hebert.
Drew will be remembered with deep love, laughter, and lasting affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.
A celebration of Drew’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30th. Additional details will be shared soon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Drew’s honor may be made to the Friends of the Paint Creek Trail, a place that was very meaningful to him. He spent much of his time there walking, biking, cross-country skiing, and enjoying nature with friends and family. Donations can be made online at https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/WVRSM3RZ6JCZJ.
