Elinor was born the daughter of Elmer and Helen Schroeder on July 9, 1927, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1945. Elinor earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Central Michigan University. Elinor married Robert Jereau and they raised their family in Rochester. She taught piano and served as a substitute teacher for many years. Elinor was a member of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Tuesday Musicale, and she volunteered at Neighborhood House in Rochester.
Elinor was a life-long learner and enjoyed organic gardening, nature, and preserving the environment was important to her. She loved traveling with her husband throughout the United States and Canada with many winters spent in Texas and Florida.
Elinor was predeceased by her husband Robert Jereau. She was also predeceased by her sister Margaret (Christopher) Boyle.
She is survived by her daughters Luellen Kirchner and Marilyn (Kenneth Webster) Jereau; grandson Jason Kirchner; great-grandson Nicholas Kirchner; niece Molly Boyle; and nephew Ben Boyle.
A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
