Born in Detroit, Michigan on February 27, 1956. He graduated from Fraser High School in 1974 and attended Lake Superior State University. Eric was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed NASCAR. In his youth, he was a member of The Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed skiing. He worked for Cardinal Health until retirement in 2022.
He is preceded in death by his wife of over 20 years, Kathy, his parents Walter and Alice (née Whitehead) Lehtonen, and his sister Vicky (née Lehtonen) Bedford.
Eric is survived by his son, Ryan (Katherine) of Clarkston, Michigan, two grandsons, Evan and Alexander, and sister Donna of Denton, Texas. He was beloved and called PawPaw/papa by many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren through his marriage with Kathy.
A service is being planned at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, Tx. Internment will be at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park Colleyville, TX. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation at www.pcf.org.
