I knew Eric my whole life and we spoke the night before he passed away. His special nature was a gift to this world and I miss him every day. 

Ed, I was so sorry to learn that Eric had passed on. I have never forgotten him, nor have I forgotten your family.  Eric was a great, great friend and he was like an older brother to me.  I was only about 9, 10, and 11 when we hung out together.  He was indeed a "gentle soul".  That describes him so well and I treasure the days we spent together and I treasure the memories that I will always have.  Unfortunately we had completely lost touch with each other after the very early 70's.
And I also wanted to mention your Mom.  She was always especially kind to me.  I hope that I see Eric again in whatever phase may come next after this life.  My very best wishes to you.
