Erin Marie Grobbel

GROBBEL, Erin; Age 20, February 16, 2012 of Rochester Hills. Erin was born February 20, 1991 in Southfield. Erin is survived by her mother and father, Claudia and Gary Grobbel, her brother Chris, friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, and the lives of all those she touched along the way. Erin graduated from Rochester High School in 2009 and attended both Loyola University in Chicago and Oakland University. Always of a mind to help others, Erin devoted time to such activities as Meals on Wheels and teaching religion class at her church. Erin had a true passion for theater, music, and art. She enjoyed painting in her free time and was a member of the RATS, the Rochester Alliance of Theater Students, in high school. Erin loved to spend her summers with her family “up north” in Bay View and Petoskey Michigan. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday February 21st at 10:00 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood Ave., Rochester. The family will receive friends on Monday February 20th at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI 48307 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7 PM. An annual scholarship fund is being set up in Erin’s name and will be awarded to a Rochester High School student who demonstrates a passion for theater.
