Eva M. Trummer, age 87, died on Thursday, January 10, 2019, in the Lourdes Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, a caring and loving community in Waterford. From her birth in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on August 17, 1931, to her death on Thursday she nourished people around her with love, laughter, music, and sincere kindness. Born to Karl and Mary Anna (Gemel) Straky, Eva was the middle child of five children. At a young age, Eva received voice training from the Ursuline School of Music. She was also a self-taught pianist and received art lessons at that time. Her love of the arts shown through in her life as she won art competitions, performed in the Windsor Light Opera, and was a briefly published illustrator for the Windsor Star. Not only gifted in the arts, Eva was also mathematically inclined and pursued a career in business as a bookkeeper. It was during this time in her life she married Joseph Trummer in 1955 and moved to the suburbs of Metro Detroit. After her divorce, she dedicated her life to raising her three children and enjoying her life with singing, piano, and dance. Eva continued to share her love of music at Lourdes, where she lived for nearly nine years due to a form of Alzheimer, and was known as Ms. Hollywood for her singing, dancing, and Movie Star glasses. Left to honor Eva and remember her love are Eva's three children, Jerry (Tish), Joseph, and Cynthia (George) Niedbalski; three grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, and Sashabaw; a sister, Helen (predecease Marvin) Teschke and brother, Karl (predecease Kathy) Straky ; and many nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Anna and Mary (Stanley) Pombo. Eva will be remembered as a bright, shining light.
