George was born the son of Gyorgy Kakaviska (Veshka) and Helen Wozniak on August 20, 1937 in Berwick, Pennsylvania. As a young child he moved to Detroit with his family and at age 17 enlisted in the Army in 1954. George married Dolores Fantini on September 28, 1984 in St. Clair, Michigan. George had a career as a machinist for many years retiring in the early 1990's. He was also a hypnotist and psychic and used these abilities for the healing of people.
George loved his family, especially his kids and the grandchildren. In earlier years he engaged in archery, fishing, hunting, Alaskan Malamute dogs, and backpacking with the Solar group. Leather working was his passion. He tooled wallets and belts when teaching 4-H, and later created many amazing pictorial works in leather. George shared his love and expertise for leather craft with others, especially with the kids in
4-H.
George is survived by his wife Dolores Veshka; children Sheila (John) Sapiano; Troy (Annette) Veshka; Ken Veshka; five grandchildren; nine great grand children, and various nieces, and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.
A committal service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2026 at 11AM at Guardian Angel Cemetery, located at 4701 Rochester Rd. in Oakland Township, Michigan.
