IN THE CARE OF
Pixley Funeral Home
Gordon James Kosch, born October 24, 1958 to Ernest and Barbara Kosch in Dearborn, MI, passed away peacefully at his beloved home, the ‘Brewster Rooster’ in Oakland Township August 5, 2022 with his wife, Julie Kosch, by his side. Gordie and Julie’s love story began with their marriage in 1984. They were blessed with three sons, Grant, Corey and Shane.
Born an entrepreneur, Gordie started his first business in his teens, but in 1981 Gordie and his brother Gary started Kosch Catering, the company he would lead for over the next 35 years out of downtown Rochester, becoming a devoted member of the community. There are few lives in the Rochester community Gordie did not touch as an Arts and Apples volunteer, coach of his sons’ sports teams, and downtown Rochester business leader. Gordie loved and was devoted to his family and extended such generosity to his friends, making them feel like family.
Gordie is survived by his wife, Julie; siblings, Gary (Wendy), Margaret (George), Douglas (Erin), and Mary Beth; children Grant, Corey (Heidi), and Shane (Alexandra); and grandchildren, Gideon, Genevieve, Cameran, Posie, and Jesse.
A Celebration of Life is being held at The Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, August 7.
