

KING, Harvey G., age 90, of Rochester, died August 22, 2011, at his home. A graduate of Utica High School, he was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and served in the Central Pacific Islands Theatre. Once a Marine, always a Marine. From 1947 until 2004 he and his brothers owned King Brothers, a power equipment retailer in Pontiac. He was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church and a strong supporter of St. John Lutheran School. On July 14, 1947, he and Joanne R. Weaver eloped to Angola, Indiana, where they were married. Their life together lasted until August 30, 2010, when she was summoned to her heavenly home. Their marriage was blessed with four sons, Bruce who died in 1964, Barry who died in 1998, Calvin “ Kelly” King and Joseph (Joanne) King. Grandfather of Bruce, Richard, Joshua, Justin, Annalee, Jeremy and Sarah. Great-grandfather of Rebecca, Martin and Benjamin. Brother of James King and Calvin King, both of Rochester Hills, the late Albert and the late Jerry. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, 1011 W. University Drive in Rochester. Burial along with military honors will follow at White Chapel Cemetery. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wedneday at PIXLEY FUNERAL HOME, 322 W. University Drive in Rochester.
