DELANEY, James Edward “Jim”, age 92, of Rochester Hills, died March 8, 2018. Jim was born on August 28, 1925 in Missouri. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ferndale and joined the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Monssen during World War II. He was employed by General Motors, first at Truck & Bus and then as a Master Mechanic at Chevrolet Gear & Axle, which he retired from. Jim was a member of the Detroit Sportsmen Congress for over 50 years, and was a past president as well as a longtime member of the board of directors. He had been a Training Officer, and Range Officer, for the N.R.A. as well as the D.N.R., and M.U.C.C. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wood working, especially building wooden miniatures. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Henrietta. Dear father of Paul (Carol) Delaney; grandfather of John and Drew. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., in downtown Rochester. The family will receive visitors from 3-6 pm on Friday and 10 a.m. until the service begins on Saturday. Interment to follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
