James Jim, Catfish, JW Warren Massey

MASSEY, James W. “Jim”, age 58, of Rochester, passed away May 29, 2010. He was the high school sweetheart and beloved husband of Patricia (Ballantine) for 11 years. Loving father to Ashley, Mariell (Richard) McLatcher, Amy and Mark (Carrie) Rygwelski. “Papaw Jim” to Xavier and Caitlynn. Cherished brother to Sherry (Randle) Wildmon and Gladys (Perry) Brasel. Dear son-in-law of Meriel Ballantine and brother-in-law to Richard J. Ballantine. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. Jim was an avid hunter, enjoyed watching his children play sports, being with friends and family and driving his car. He attended Rochester Church of Christ, Celebrate Recovery, Alcoholics for Christ and was a friend of Bill W. and was a servant of the Lord. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Carlee Massey, his brother Terry and is father-in-law Richard D. Ballantine. A memorial celebration of Jim’s life will be on Friday, June 4th at PIXLEY FUNERAL HOME, 322 W. University Drive in Rochester at 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 3rd from 5-9 p.m. and again on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial tributes in Jim’s name may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
