Janet was born in Gary, Indiana, on May 18, 1935. She graduated from Chesterton High School and received her Registered Nursing degree from Gary Methodist Nursing School. She was married to Douglas Anderson on March 10, 1956.
Janet had a long career in nursing that included stints at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, Indiana, and KCH in Warsaw. She also spent time nursing in Crown Point as well as a brief period as the “RN” at a nursing home in Valparaiso before retiring with husband, Douglas, to Florida. Janet enjoyed knitting and crocheting but spent most of her time in retirement “RVing” with Douglas.
Janet is survived by Douglas, son, David, and brother, Mario Jr. (Cricket) as well as six grandchildren. She is predeceased by daughter, Julie, son, Thomas, brother James and sisters Cathy and Gaye-Lee.
