Janice was the daughter of Harold and Verna (Jenkins) Rose in Kingston, Pennsylvania, and was born on March 1, 1934. Janice graduated from Kingston Township High School in Pennsylvania, class of 1952. She also attended Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business. She married Willard Durbin on March 14, 1953. Janice and Willard raised their family in Parsippany, New Jersey before moving to Rochester, Michigan in 1978. Janice had a long career as a real estate broker.
Janice loved her family and was a dedicated mother. She had a passion for sewing, creating craft projects, children's clothing, and work suits for herself. Janice was a gifted soprano soloist and choir member.
Janice is survived by her children Kim (Joe) Roddy, Lynn Cohen, Claire (Eric) Mathieson, and Robert (Karen) Durbin; grandchildren Michael (Teri) Pavelek, Lauren Mathieson, Emily Mathieson, Jess Durbin, Emory Durbin, and CJ Durbin; great-grandchildren Steven Pavelek, Elizabeth Pavelek, Addison Durbin, Bobby Durbin, Alex Durbin, Christopher Durbin, and Amelia Durbin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Janice was predeceased by her parents; grandchild Jeremy Pavelek; and siblings Harold Rose Jr. and Penny Lutz.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday January 23rd, 2026, from 1pm until the time of the memorial service at 3pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan.
