Jan was so special to our family.  She was like second mother to us, very close friend to our  mother and neighbor.  Jan was full of life and laughter. She loved her family and grandkids and was so special to my family too,  I send condolences to her family. She and my mother, Ellie, were best friends.May she rest in peace. Jan was an Icon at the Sandpiper in Lexington.  I loved her from the first moment I met her and was sad to learn that she had passed away.  One of my fondest and funniest memories was the day she told Bill Jr. to dig up the ferns on the side of her place in 95 degree heat!  I said to Bill Jr. why are you doing this now?  Wait till later or tomorrow its too hot!  He said "just trying to keep the peace, whatever she wants."  We both started laughing. Then I said I want those ferns so I got an old bucket and a garbage bag and put most of them in there (so you can say I was helping him-LOL).  I took them home and they are All over my garden today.  Every time I look at them which is everyday I think of Jan and Bill Jr.  Peace to you Jan.

I just heard the news of Jan's passing.  She was a dear friend to my mother and they had many years of good times together and supported each other when there were not such good times.  She was a very special person.  Jan was such fun and had the most wonderful laugh.  She loved her family so much and they were everything to her.

Oh no, just now found out that Jan has passed.  So weird that I sent her an email this morning! She has been on my mind.
She was such a lovey person.  My heart goes out to you, Bill and Dave, during this sad time.  Sending you loving and comforting thoughts.  Lori

Jan and I graduated together in the RHS Class of 1951.  We had a ton of fun dancing at school dances.  She was a great cheerleader and an all around good person.  She was fun to be around.  Her husband Bill and I grew up on the same street and went to school together at Brooklands School.

To all of Jan's family I offer my deepest sympathies, the world has lost a great person.  SHE WILL BE MISSED.

Jeanette Howell was one of my favorite parents when I was principal at McGregor Elementary School.  She and Bill did not know how to say "no" when it came to helping out!  She will be so missed.  Rest well in Heaven, my friend, you will be so welcomed there.  Bill and David, you are in our thoughts and prayers.  How special your parents were!

Oh my gosh, popcorn and laughter helped everything.  So many good memories at the lake.  It just seemed right when Jan was there.  No further explanatation needed.  She was great at lifting spirits. I will never forget those days...... Say Hi to Bill and Jackie & Sam, Ellie, Anita & Henry, Tom and Jean, Dean and Jeanine ..

Terrie and I have many fond memories of Jan. She was a great gal, full of life,  and laughter. I can't help but think of the famous J women - Jan, Jackie, Joan, Jewell,and Jean. I learned a great deal from Jan. I could go on for days about how much she impacted my life...she meant a great deal to many people who will all miss her dearly. Thank you for the woman you were to me, for the many things you taught me, for your friendship, for your love and kindness, and for the many, many laughs. I am truly a better person having known you!

I have fond memories of Aunt Jan. Although I have not seen her since I was a child, I will carry those memories as a lasting legacy of her warmth and caring. My deepest sympathy to you, Bill and David, and your families during this difficult time.

"The Nice Lady Next Door" That's what Jan called herself and she certainly was and so much more.  She was a neighbor and a friend to me at our family "lake house"  :}  in Lexington.  As I got older I learned to love Jan more each summer.  She was my dance party at all occasions.  We would take the time to put chairs down at the park in Lexington for the "music in the park" hours if not a day prior. We wanted to be sure to have a front row seat so we could dance.... and dance  we did. But now Jan will dance in heaven with her husband Bill. The lake will never be the same without Jan.  She was a presence that can't ever be replaced.  "My Way" by Frank Sinatra was one of Jan's favorite songs and a tribute to how she lived her life.  She will be truly missed.

To the "Nice Lady Next Door" (Sandpiper)- Never an unkind word about anyone, full of smiles, laughter and good times.  And as Frankie said, you did it your way.  You'll be missed more than words can express.

Jan, Bill & Ellie were fantastic neighbors on Ludlow.  Sorry to hear of her passing and extended prayers go out to the family.

Jan was wonderful to know and always a caring person. She exuded warmth. I have missed her on our golf league because I could see her every week. We have kept in touch. Rest in peace, Jan. I'll miss your beautiful smile.
