Jo Ann was born the daughter of Verlin and Nena (Zambelli) Napier in Harlan, Kentucky on July 27, 1947. She graduated from Hamtramck High School, class of 1965. Jo Ann earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 1969. She married Casimir Krajewski on July 26, 1969 at St. Ladislaus Church in Hamtramck, Michigan. She taught English, speech, and drama at Cooley High School in Detroit from 1970 until 1978. Jo Ann and Casimir raised their family Rochester Hills. Jo Ann earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Oakland University in 1990 and worked as a Middle School Counselor in Clarkston until her retirement in 2007. Jo Ann was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, American Association of University Women (AAUW), Meadowbrook Women’s Club, and Encore.
Jo Ann’s passion was first for her family. She also loved to play bridge, attend book club and bible study, and she enjoyed movies, plays and traveling.
Jo Ann is survived by her children Katherine (Peter Germano) Krajewski of Newton, MA, and Joseph (Heather Atnip) Krajewski of Oxford, MI; grandchildren Nena, Vivian, and Charles Germano, and Brenden and Brooke Ersig; siblings Mark (Linda) Napier and Renee (Robin) Mosley; one loving niece and several loving nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Casimir; and parents Verlin and Nena Napier.
Jo Ann’s family will welcome all to a memorial gathering on Friday August 6, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of memorial mass at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, located at 1400 Inglewood Avenue in Rochester, Michigan.
