JoAnne "Jo" Carr

CARR, JoAnne “Jo”, 80, of Rochester, winter resident of the Breckenridge Community in Estero, FL, died December 15, 2015. She was born in Pontiac to the late Wendell and Cora Crisp on April 3, 1935. Jo graduated from Avondale High School in 1953, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Oakland University after her first 2 years spent at Central Michigan University, later receiving her Master’s Degree from Wayne State University. She married Jerry Carr on August 11, 1956. Jo was a long time member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and had a great passion for bridge. Wife of Jerry Carr; mother of Mary Cathryn (Jay) Joliat, Chris (Nancy) Carr, Mike (Carol) Carr, Tim (Sue) Carr, and Mary Frances (Ed) Dicker; grandmother of Jackie, Joe, Christine, Heather, Beth, Sarah, Jenny, Bobby, Kendal, Jason, Danny and Jimmy; great-grandmother of 5 and sister of the late Frances Smith. Visitation from 2 – 8 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., in downtown Rochester; rosary to be read at 7 p.m. Funeral Liturgy 10 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood St., Rochester; in-state from 9:30 a.m. until start of Mass.
