A graduate from Rochester High School, John's journey led him to become a welder for General Motors and later advanced to a master electrician retiring from the Pontiac Metal Fab plant in 2009. John's skilled hands brought light and strength to the world around him. His true joy lay in the simple pleasures of life. John found comfort in tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. His love for outdoors extended to hunting, traveling the shores of Michigan, and exploring nature trails with his cherished wife, Jeannette, and their loyal dogs.
Spending time with his grandchildren were cherished moments of John's. He shared his love of music, movies, and history with anyone that would listen. But above all, John treasured the bonds of family. He married his beloved Jeannette on June 20, 1981, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter.
He is survived by his loving wife Jeannette, his children Joel (Marie) Beardslee, Jill (Christopher) Bauer, and his adoring grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Jonathan, and Andrew.
A memorial visitation for John will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 11:00am until the 1:00pm memorial service, at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307.
