I have the fondest memories of John. When ever we met we would start with bantering in-law jokes followed by our point in life conversations. Always positive, it was alway a pleasure to chat with John.

Condolences to the Katona family. I was quite fortunate to have met and worked with John at GM/Delphi, primarily at the Coopersville Michigan fuel injector facility. John was a fantastic and wonderful man. He was able to teach, and inspire many many people across the breath and depth of a super large company, yet he did it with humility and an infectious smile. 

I am sorry for your loss and pray the good Lord hold and comfort you in this difficult time.

I have known John for many years and met Marsha several times at ASQ Automotive Division events. John was one of the kindest, friendliest and smartest men I ever met. He was a very good friend and I will miss him greatly. My heartfelt condolences to Marsha, the children, family and the wonderful pets. I am certain he has already met up with Dr. Deming, Juran and Dorian Shainin. Rest in peace John!! 

I am so sorry; I will not be able to pay my respects in person. I am headed to Alabama for my little brothers funeral. I guess God was ready for two more special men.

My condolence for the loss of John. So sorry to hear. John was the most knowledgeable and able instructors I have ever known.  I first learned the basics of SPC from John way back in the days of AC Spark Plug. I took several classes from John and he was always there to offer help andvsupport anytime outside the classroom, on the manufacturing floor. What a great guy!

I had the privilege to work with John while he was at Delphi and Chrysler along with time spent volunteering at ASQ events.  John was the consummate professional who always had a simile and an encouraging word.  John touched everyone in a positive way and will be greatly missed.

To Marsha and all of John’s Family:
They say a testament to a man’s life can be measured by the number of people who were positively impacted by the man. If that’s how we measure John’s life, I would guess it ranks right up there at the very top.  He will be missed by many. 

I met John in the early 90’s and ever since then I considered him my friend which isn’t surprising because that’s how John made everyone feel. He became my boss in 1999 and became a mentor to me and many others always willing and eager to help others grow. Later I learned about John’s faith and we became brothers in Christ. He was always sharing his latest revelations in the study of his faith with me and we had great conversations about it. I have no doubt where John’s soul is now, at peace with his friend Jesus. 
One of my favorite memories was watching John get so much enjoyment out of making jurassic burgers for his bbq guests. Makes me smile every time my wife and I remember that.

Sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with John when he worked at Flint AC & Delphi.


One of my favorite memories of John is him coming into the kitchen and seeing Marsha.  He would start singing, “Hey good looking, whatcha got cooking?”  I don’t know how old I was when I figured out that was a real song and not one he made up.  

Condolences to the family.  I worked with John at AC Spark Plug/Delphi for many years. Always a joy to work with.  Sad to hear of his passing but glad to know he is in heaven with Jesus.  I am also a fellow Gideon.
