

Jack was born on July 6, 1932, in Seelyville, Indiana, son of the late Thomas and Helen (Novotney) Laclave. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 and served during the Korean War. Following his military service, Jack began a career in advertising in the mailroom with McManus, John and Adams Agency in Bloomfield Hills, in 1953 where he met his future bride. He later transferred his employment to Ross Roy advertising Agency in Detroit and then retired in 1997 as a Media Executive. He also obtained his Real Estate License and sold property for many years and received his Builder's License as well. As a builder, Jack built his own homes and became an excellent handyman and plumber. Jack was a member of the 4-H gun club, the Elks Lodge and an active participating parent with CubScouts and BoyScouts. He enjoyed skeet shooting, bird hunting as well as fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jack married Alyce Ann Franklin on March 20, 1954, and enjoyed 54 years of marriage until Alyce passed away in 2008. He is survived by his children John 'Jackie' Laclave, Stephen (Brenda) Laclave, Anne Laclave, and Elizabeth (Donald Cook) Laclave; grandchildren Ryan Vandeberghe (Matthew Bryant), Justin (Alaina) Laclave, Brandon Laclave, and Arbor (Thalia) Laclave; great grandchildren Addison and Jack Laclave. Also survived by his sister, Helen Jilbert, and brothers Thomas (Christine) Laclave and Joseph (Kitty) Laclave, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends and family from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive in Rochester. A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m.
Fr. Mychail Rozmarynowycz will officiate. Inurnment at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
