Justine Maryann Godzik, 75, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Oakland, MI, passed away on August 8, 2019 after an extended illness. Justine was born on September 28, 1943 in Detroit, MI, to John and Justine Cesarz. She attended Rosary High School where she graduated in 1961. She worked as a Bank Teller and Customer Service Representative until she retired.
After high school, Justine married the love of her life, Edward Godzik, on August 3, 1963. She and Edward raised two children, Julianne and Edward (“Eddie”), in Warren and Lake Orion, MI.
Justine and Edward celebrated 50 years of marriage on August 3, 2013. Shortly thereafter, Edward passed away on January 11, 2014.
Justine had a passion for animals and especially loved her three grand-kitties. She enjoyed her crossword puzzles, crime shows, and going out to dinner with her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Julianne Godzik, of Knoxville, TN; brother, Joe (Janet) Cesarz; sister-in-laws, Stella Glassford and Mary Cesarz; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Edward, and beloved son, Eddie; parents John and Justine Cesarz; brother, John Cesarz; in-laws, Peter and Helen Godzik; and brother-in-law, Fred Glassford.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N. Lapeer Road, Lake Orion, MI followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
Internment will be at VanHoosen Jones-Stoney Creek Cemetery in Rochester, MI.
