Katherine Lee Wuori

WUORI, Katherine Lee, age 78, of Rochester Hills, passed away on May 23, 2018. She was born on July 6, 1939 in Laurium, Michigan to Edward Kuivanen and Nana (Tepsa) Kuivanen. Kathie graduated from Northern Michigan University with her Bachelor’s Degree and went on to have a career as a teacher. She was married to James T. Wuori on August 5, 1961. Kathie is survived by her husband of over 56 years; her sons, Mark (Allison) Wuori of Marquette, MI, and David (Kristin) Wuori of St. Charles, MO; her grandchildren, Alyssa (Matthew) Beverly, Justin (Frankie) Wuori, Benjamin Wuori, and Emma Wuori; her great grandchildren Adrian Beverly, Daniel Beverly, Leander Wuori, and Elliot Wuori; her siblings, Rebecca (Ernest) Oz and Edward (Pamela) Kuivanen; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Kathie had a passion for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 from 3-8 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018 11 AM, with gathering beginning at 10 AM until time of service, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1892 E. Auburn Rd., Rochester Hills, MI.
