

Kathryn Anne (Moore) McDevitt age 61, of Rochester Hills, passed away on September 6, 2017. She was born on October 10, 1955 in Mishawaka, Indiana to John Charles Moore and the late Jean Anne (Rodgers) Moore. Kathy graduated from Penn High School with the class of 1974. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Butler University. She married Kevin J. McDevitt on August 29, 1981 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana. Beloved wife of Kevin and loving mother of four children: Briana Jean (McDevitt) Wojciechowski and her husband James, Cara Rose McDevitt, Shannon Moore McDevitt and Connor Daniel McDevitt. Also surviving is her father, John of Mishawaka, Indiana and sister, Rebecca Marion Strickland of Gurnee, Illinois.
Growing up in South Bend, Kathy was frequently found at the 4H State Fair, keeping stats at her father’s softball games, and riding her horses bareback. She was an avid reader, acute vacation planner, winning euchre player, and most importantly, loved being a mom. She generously chose to fill most of her weekends watching each of her four children take the soccer field. Kathy was also a woman of excitement and adventure, prominently displayed in her many travels. She never said no to an unexplored opportunity. Her free time was spent passionately contributing to the betterment of her community. Kathy’s heart was unwavering, and her commitment to spreading love and joy to her family and friends was unmatched.
Visitation will be held on September 10, 2017 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at Pixley Funeral Home in downtown Rochester. Funeral Service will held at 10:00am on September 11, 2017 at St. Irenaeus Church in Rochester Hills, MI. Kathy will be laid to rest in Guardian Angels Cemetery, Rochester. Memorial contributions may be made to Butler Athletic Academic Center and Authors in April.
